Terms of Service
The agreement between you and Haisleaf: what you can do with the service, who owns what you write (you do), how billing and cancellation work, and what the AI features do and do not promise.

The agreement
Haisleaf is a resume builder built and run by an independent developer working solo. These terms are the agreement between you and us, covering the Haisleaf website, the editor, the exports it produces and everything else we offer under this name — together, “the service”.
By creating an account or using the service you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the service. Our Privacy Policy explains what we do with personal data and forms part of this agreement.
We write “we” and “us” for readability. There is one person behind them, which is also why replies to the address at the foot of this page take hours rather than minutes.
Who can use it, and your account
You must be at least 16 years old to use Haisleaf. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may only use it with the agreement of a parent or guardian who accepts these terms on your behalf.
An account belongs to one person. You are responsible for keeping your password to yourself and for everything done through your account. Tell us at support@haisleaf.com as soon as you think somebody else has access to it.
Give us an email address you can actually receive mail at. It is how we reach you about your account, your subscription and any change to these terms.
Your content stays yours
Everything you write, upload or import — your resume text, your history, any photograph or background image — is yours. We claim no ownership of it and we do not use it to train anything, advertise anything, or build any product other than the one you are using.
To run the service for you we need your permission to handle that content, so you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, copy, transmit, lay out and display it — for the sole purpose of providing the service to you. That covers laying out your resume, rendering it to PDF, keeping your version history, backing it up, and — only when you ask for it — sending its text to the AI provider named in the Privacy Policy. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from copies sitting in routine backups until they age out.
If you create a share link, anybody holding that link can view that resume until you revoke it or it expires. Treat one like a key rather than an address.
You are responsible for what your resume says. By using the service you confirm you have the right to use everything you put in it, and that what it claims about you is true.
Acceptable use
Do not use Haisleaf to:
- break the law, infringe somebody else’s rights, or impersonate a real person or organisation — including claiming qualifications, employment or credentials that are not yours;
- upload malware, or content that is unlawful, harassing, hateful or deliberately deceptive;
- upload other people’s personal data that you have no right to hand over to us;
- attack or degrade the service — probing or bypassing authentication, rate limits or plan limits, scraping it at scale, or automating it in ways that load it beyond ordinary personal use;
- resell, rent out or repackage the service, or reverse-engineer it except to the extent the law says you may.
We do not read your resumes looking for violations, and we would rather not have to. Where something is reported to us or becomes obvious, we may remove content or suspend an account.
The AI features, and what they do not promise
Two features use a third-party AI model: importing an existing resume from a file, and tailoring a resume to a job posting. Both are optional, both run only when you ask for them, and both are described in the Privacy Policy in terms of what leaves the service.
A model can be wrong. It can misread a date, flatten a section, or suggest wording that is bland, generic or subtly untrue about you. Tailoring proposes rewrites of your own sentences and shows you each one before anything is written — reviewing them is your job, not ours, and the result is your statement about yourself once you accept it.
Do not use these features to invent employers, dates, qualifications or achievements. The product deliberately refuses to rewrite job titles, employers and dates for this reason; that refusal is not a substitute for your own honesty in the parts it will rewrite.
Nothing in Haisleaf promises an interview, a job, or that any particular applicant tracking system, recruiter or employer will parse, accept or favour what you export.
Plans, billing and cancelling
There is a free plan, and a paid subscription that unlocks the features marked as paid in the app. What sits behind the paid plan may change as the product grows; what you are paying for is shown at checkout and in your billing page.
Payments are handled by Polar, which acts as the merchant of record for the subscription. That means Polar is the seller on the transaction, the receipt and any invoice come from them, and they are responsible for charging and remitting any sales tax or VAT that applies where you live. Card details go to Polar directly and never reach our servers. Prices are shown in the currency used at checkout.
A subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your billing page; cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep paid access until the end of the period you have already paid for. We do not refund part-used periods except where the law requires it or where we decide to.
If a payment fails, paid features may pause until it succeeds. If we change the price, we will tell you by email at least 30 days before it applies to you; carrying on after that is acceptance, and cancelling before it takes effect avoids it.
Availability and changes to the service
We try to keep Haisleaf running and reasonably quick, but we do not promise any level of uptime. It can be down for maintenance, for a provider’s outage, or for a mistake of ours.
The service is under active development. Features can change, and some are marked beta or experimental, which means exactly what it sounds like. Where we remove something you were relying on, we will give notice if it is reasonably possible.
You can export your resume as a PDF or as plain text at any time, on any plan. Please keep your own copies of anything that matters to you — that is the honest advice for any online service, and doubly so for one run by one person.
Ending it
You can stop using Haisleaf whenever you like. To have your account and its contents deleted, email support@haisleaf.com from the address on the account and we will delete it within 30 days. Export anything you want to keep first — deletion is not reversible.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, where the law requires it, or if we stop offering the service. Except where the reason is a serious breach, we will give you notice and a reasonable chance to export your work first, and we will refund the unused part of a subscription we ended.
What we do and do not warrant
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. Beyond the guarantees that cannot be excluded by law, we make no warranties — in particular we do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, that an export will be parsed correctly by any given third-party system, or that anything a model suggests is accurate.
If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected by anything in this section.
Limits on liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, lost data, or lost opportunities — including a job or an interview you did not get.
Our total liability to you for all claims in any twelve-month period is limited to the greater of what you paid us in that period and USD 50.
Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
Your responsibility for your own content
To the extent the law allows, you will cover us for claims, losses and reasonable costs arising from content you put into the service or from your use of it in breach of these terms — for example a claim by somebody whose personal data you uploaded without a right to.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan, and the courts of Islamabad, Pakistan have jurisdiction over any dispute. If you use the service as a consumer somewhere else, you keep the protections that your local law gives you and that cannot be contracted out of.
Before anything formal, please write to support@haisleaf.com. Almost everything is quicker to fix than to argue about, and you will be talking to the person who can fix it.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service changes. The date at the top says when they last moved. If a change materially affects your rights we will tell you by email or in the app at least 14 days before it takes effect; continuing to use the service after that is acceptance, and if you would rather not, you can cancel and ask us to delete your account.
